Purpose
Statement:
The role of the division is to control and monitor the traffic signals for
the safe and efficient movement of people and goods and supply applicable
data to the department staff. The Computerized Signal system, which is maintained
by the division, includes: monitoring traffic at strategic locations by
video surveillance, calculating signal timing for intersections, identifying
system problems and applying corrective procedures. The division also provides
technical support for the department computer software and hardware. |
